Adam Levine isn’t too happy with MTV’s these days. The Maroon 5 frontman took to twitter to voice his disappointment about tonight’s MTV Video Music Awards while attending the Snapple Tea Will Be Loved launch on Friday night with his bandmates. Maroon 5 wasn’t nominated for anything at this years award show, which may be the fuel to Adam’s fire.

MTV wasn’t too pleased about the tension felt through the web, so they shot back by sending Adam a tweet. The pop-rock band beat Kanye West for Best New Artist at the 2004 VMAs, which is what MTV’s tweet was referring to. Adam lashed back and got the last word by saying, “”Still waiting to have my ‘Jerry Macguire mission statement moment of deep regret …’ Not happening. Phew!”

This years MTV Video Music Awards is said to be a star studded event with amazing performances by Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Adele, Bruno Mars and a reported tribute to Britney Spears, airing tonight at 8pm.
