Sony’s dual screen S2 & P tablets are not iPad killers, but they sure are pretty innovative and interesting devices to look at.

“It’s not about who makes them first, but who makes them better,” Sony president Howard Stringer quipped as he introduced the devices to the public yesterday at the IFA press conference.

Running the latest version of Android Gingerbread, the Sony S2 and P tablets are both 4G* capable and Wi-Fi compatible. With both 4G and Wi-Fi, users can browse the Internet, access digital content including videos, games and check e-mail, while on the go, nearly anytime.

Most will probably use all its functions in their living room, as the devices are compatible with the PS3 and Sony Bravia TV’s via an IR port in the back.

Expect the tablets to be on U.S. shores in a few weeks. Prices range from $499 to $599.
