New York At Night is a new exhibition of photographs by New Rochelle, NY based photographer Joy Malone. The work launches tomorrow and continues into November.

“New York City is intimidating subject matter and this series is my personal contribution to the photographic dialogue that represents it,” Malone says in the show’s press release. “Having grown up in the suburbs outside NYC, The American Dream series is about the fracturing of my perception of the traditional American Dream.

The last decade’s events, coupled with my personal growth into womanhood, directly inspired this imagery. My thesis is representative of 360 degrees of my personal environments, surrounded and broken up by the unknown – fractured and in flux.”

Malone is an apprentice under celebrity photographer Johnny Nunez, but her artistry is far from apprentice-like as evidenced by the spectacular image above.
