We were lucky enough to attend the star-studded event and chop it up with some of our favorite celebs.
Taraji P. Henson was just one of the celebs who attended the event and we had the chance to chit chat with her and find out why she thinks black girls rock!

GlobalGrind: Who are you excited to see tonight and who’s inspired you? You’re an inspiration to so many young girls.
Taraji P. Henson: I want to see all the black girls that rock! I think inadvertently we inspire each other. We can’t do it alone. I’m here because I saw someone that looks like me on the television or in the movies. It’s just a cycle that keeps going. We have to love each other.
Do you feel that girls don’t support each other so much. Or do you see an uprising where girls are coming together more?
I kind of see both. I think shows like this are very important because we get the message out there. This started out as just a dinner and look at how it’s grown because we’re supporting each other. That’s all we have. No ones really on our side but us.
