GlobalGrind caught up with hip-hop fly girl, model, designer, actress and fashionista Amber Rose, hours before she was to attend the launch party for the second season of BET and Smirnoff’s Master of the Mix launch last week.

EXCLUSIVE: Amber On Kim K, Bieber And More

Amber, who is a judge on the DJ battle reality series, chatted with GG about the Kim Kardashian/Justin Bieber deluge that’s currently poppin’ in the media, her role on the show, her trip to Ghana and much more.

Today she tells us about her beauty regimen, her collabo with Members Only and her inner world.

GlobalGrind: Your skin always glows. Do you have any beauty secrets you want to share with our readers? Do you use any products?

Amber Rose: I only use Dove soap on my face. I don’t use any astringent. Anything like that is going to dry my face up! I also use raw African shea butter every single day. I put it in the microwave and it turns into a very thick oil, and I put it all over my body and in my hair.

Tell us what your unconscious world is like. What does Amber Rose dream about?

Man, I don’t know!

You must have some creative dreams. What goes through your mind?

Dreams? No, I think of things and I dream while I am awake! My mind is always going and thinking about the next thing. And fashion … The fact that I am designing now for Members Only, I am always thinking about new fashion, new ideas.

I write music so I’m always thinking about new things to write and new ill things to say. I think about my family, I think about my mom, I think about my dogs all the time. My dogs are like my kids! I feel like I gave birth to them. I swear, I love those little f*ckers, they are so cute!

I am really just a normal chick from South Philly, just super down to earth and I am just really chill! There is nothing super extra with me.

Can you talk a little about your collaborations with Members Only?

Sure! I am doing a whole collection with Members Only. I am designing jackets, furs, wool, leather. Really dope designs. I was at their office yesterday for the whole day going through it with the designer and telling them exactly what I wanted. They are working on all my pieces right now. I can’t wait to wear them. I can’t wait to add that to my resume.

You said recently that you felt persecuted because you’re a woman, that there is a double standard in the way women and men are treated in hip-hop.

Yeah, I feel like people ridicule me because I have a new boyfriend. Am I supposed to be single for the rest of my life? What do y’all want me to do? Do you want me to go back to Philly and just go back to f**king being a stripper? They don’t want me to get ahead, why? Why not be positive and say ‘You know what? Amber is doing it. She has an opportunity that so many girls want and I really hope that she succeeds in life.’ Especially from where I came from!

I didn’t grow up like Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton, with a silver spoon in my mouth. I really worked my ass off my entire life and I didn’t have anything handed to me besides the fame and that is something that was totally out of my hands. I never tried, I never spoke, I never did interviews. I am out in the street and everyone wants to take pictures of me! What the f**k is going on? But stuff like that is just not my fault.

As we get older and the culture evolves and changes, there are different ways to define success, especially in a country where people are rewarded for hard work. But with someone who looks as different as you do and brings something different to the table, people don’t know how to respond to that except in a negative way.

When people hit me on Twitter and they say, ‘You used so-and-so to get famous and you’re famous for nothing.’ I’m working, I’m working hard to do ill sh*t. I don’t want to just sit on my ass and collect a welfare check! I’m working, so I am just going to keep it positive, man. I am going to keep it all about inspirational sh*t and women’s power!
