New info has emerged about Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez, the man who authorities believe was behind the White House shooting that occurred last Friday night.
Authorities say that he believed attacking the White House was part of a personal mission from God, according to a law enforcement official who spoke with The Associated Press.
Police believe Hernandez was obsessed with President Barack Obama and pulled his car within view of the White House to fire shots from an assault rifle, cracking a window of the first family’s living quarters.
The bullets recovered on Tuesday were stopped by a protective ballistic glass.
Police believe Hernandez has a history of mental illness and has an extensive record, ranging from domestic violence to drug charges. Hernandez was captured yesterday at a Pennsylvania hotel.
Ortega is scheduled to make his first appearance at 2 p.m. Thursday in federal court in Pittsburgh.
We’re relieved to see the man who put the lives of our leader and his family in danger will be behind bars!
