On New Year’s Day Aretha Franklin announced that she was getting married, 23 days later she’s calling it all off.

The AP reports:
In a statement released Monday, her representative said Franklin’s wedding to Willie Wilkerson wasn’t going to happen.
Franklin said things were moving too fast and “a number of things” had not been thought through.
She says she won’t be commenting about it because of “the very personal and sensitive nature of it.”

No word on whether Aretha and Willie are still a couple, but there won’t be a wedding in Miami or the Hamptons as previously reported.
