Will a superstar wife and mother step into the shoes of Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger on the next season of The X-Factor? It seems as though the fans are screaming for Mariah Carey to join the show. And it sounds like Simon Cowell might be listening too.

“I met her recently and she was on great form… And her idea was to be the judge of the judges, which only Mariah could come up with. She’ll be involved in some form. I literally adore her. I love her to bits,” Cowell said of Nick Cannon‘s wife.

According to sources, Cowell is looking for someone fresh to do a bang up job in surpassing Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler on American Idol ratings.
“Simon Cowell wants to add some newness and originality to the show,” said a Hollywood source.
And the R&B diva might just deliver. Or so she promises:
“She wants to be a judge and she has been in secret talks with Simon. The two are good friends and she promised to help pull in monster ratings this coming season,” according to National Enquirer source.
We can keep guessing but we know Mariah is on a very short list of can-do celebrities. We might want to seriously consider Mariah swooping in for the save.
