Iggy Azalea is known for having a lot of spunk and attitude in her music.

However, when the music isn’t playing, the Australian beauty can also be thoughtful and candid.

She displayed her more sincere side during a recent sit down with GoodFellaMedia.

During the interview, Iggy goes in-depth about a multitude of different topics. It’s the subject of Whitney Houston’s death, however, where you hear some of her most insightful words. She says:

“Obviously, I think it’s horrible. It’s hard to say exactly when you don’t know somebody personally. I think it’s just sad to see…I don’t really feel like she had a lot of support or supporters…especially in the public, towards the end of her life.

As an entertainer and knowing how lonely it can get, even when everybody loves you — just to imagine the place she was in, for all of this to happen to her, for her to even be taking prescription drugs and all of the different variables, it just hurts my heart. And I think we need to be more considerate in what we say and remember entertainers are people too.”

Things weren’t all gloomy during their talk, however.

Iggy also mentioned that she was going to Atlanta to record her debut album and that she wanted to work with Missy Elliott and Ester Dean (or, as she puts it, “some girls that can rap and write”).

She also explained why she signed with Interscope Records, why she couldn’t be a model and why she doesn’t like to be labeled as a “female rapper.”

It’s a dope interview. Check it out above.

In other Iggy news, the future rap star has been in all of the blog headlines lately.

On Tuesday, the XXL Freshman Class cover was released and our girl was one of the 10 MCs in the issue.

Then, late last night, an unedited and unfinished video of “Iggy in Moscow” leaked onto the Internet.

Iggy was understandably pissed and had this to about it:

Thanks a lot, leakers!
