A natural disaster couldn’t have come and gone without 700 Club pastor Pat Robertson saying something idiotic about the recent Midwest tornadoes.

Asked by a 700 Club viewer yesterday why God sent the tornadoes, Robertson explained that:

“if enough people were praying He would’ve intervened, you could pray, Jesus stilled the storm, you can still storms.”

Robertson continued explaining weather patterns and God, saying:

“God didn’t send tornadoes, God set up a world in which certain currents interfere and interact with other currents. God doesn’t send tornadoes to hurt people. We call them ‘acts of God,’ but they’re not.”

From the Haiti earthquake of a couple years ago, to the Japan earthquake just last year, Robertson is always able to link God and natural disasters.

Watch as Robertson gives his explanation of the devastating Midwest tornado.
