STORY: Shaima Alawadi Beaten To Death & Left With Note “Go Back To Your Country”

A video has been released of a Baltimore crowd laughing and taunting a tourist who was being beaten by an unidentified group on St. Patrick’s Day.

According to CBS, the incident occurred in downtown Brooklyn and instead of the crowd stopping the attacks or getting help, many shamefully egged on the violence.

The victim, whose name remains unidentified, was out partying when approached by the gang. After the beating he was stripped of his wallet, car keys, and iPhone. Police say the tourist woke up the next working in his hotel room with cuts and bruises and little recollection of how he received it. Detective Nicole Monroe spoke on the incident saying:

“He had every right to leave wherever he was and get back to where he needed to be safely. Their behavior was just criminal. Not only was he relieved of his property after he was assaulted, but there were a lot of other things done to him that are disturbing to look at, and we want to bring these people to justice. The public is going to be helpful in this case, and they have been helpful thus far.”

Baltimore resident Antonio Richardson expressed his outrage saying: “It gives us a bad name, Baltimore. And people don’t want to, you know, trust us to come down here.”

Baltimore authorities say the video makers and public have provided key evidence to the investigation.

What a terrible and senseless act. We hope the criminals are brought to justice.
