A 26-year-old Bronx, NY chef was shot and killed for his iPhone while walking home from the train station.

Cops are searching for the gunman who killed Hwang Yang and stole his iPhone, moments after the victim left the subway in Kingsbridge at 12:30 a.m.
Yang was on 232nd St. near Ewen Park when a man approached him and tried to rob him at gunpoint.
According to police it is unclear if Yang resisted and a confrontation ensued, but the robber pumped a round into the victim’s chest at close range.
As reported by the NY Daily News:
One witness heard the shot ring out and saw the thug walk up to Yang’s body, kick him over, rifle through his pockets and snatch his iPhone, a police source said.
The bandit then ran up nearby Cambridge Ave. and sped up in a car, police said.
“It sounded like a firecracker,” the witness told The News. “I looked out my window and saw (the suspect) crouching and running up 232nd St. towards Cambridge. Then he cut from the sidewalk to something lying in the center of the street.”
The witness said it took a second to identify the object as a human body.
“(The suspect) grabbed one of his arms and rolled him over. Then he gave him a little kick. I’m not sure if he was checking to see if he responded,” the witness said. “I left to call 911, and when I returned to the window, the guy who had been running was now casually strolling up the hill.”
The suspect climbed into the front passenger side of a silver minivan, and the vehicle rolled away, the witness said.
Police told the witness Yang was wearing iPhone earphones when they found his body but the pricey phone was missing. His wallet wasn’t taken.
Deena Alto, 44, who lives across from the crime scene, said Yang was “a neighborhood kid. He was a good kid.”
“It’s bad enough to rob somebody, but then to kill somebody in cold blood … it’s sickening,” Alto said.
Yang, who worked at a Manhattan restaurant, was rushed to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital but could not be saved.
Family members broke down in tears Thursday morning as they visited the scene. Yang’s mother, Hyun Sub Yang, a nail salon worker, wailed in pain and pounded on the iron gate in front of the family’s home Thursday after a trip to view her only son’s body.
No arrests have been made and police are continuing to investigate.
