Solange Knowles is an all around artist. The funky super cool Knowles sister is a DJ, singer, song writer, and mother. It takes a lot of skills to be all of those things. As we stated before we simply love Solange Knowles. So when Honey Mag put Solange with new rapper Theophilus London we just had to show these amazing pictures by photographer Steven Duarte.
These behind the scenes flicks of Solange and Theophilus are totally amazing and artistic. Pure genius from the minds of Honey Mag. I applaud you all for this concept. Solange actually interviewed Theophilus London for the magazine check out this awesome exchange between the two artist.
SOLANGE: So this should be cool and easy. Your name is phenomenal. You have a line in one of your songs that says as a little kid you didn’t like your name. What age did you discover this is really a statement name and thanked your lucky star parents for giving it to you?
Theophilous London: Maybe the day I graduated high school. They called it on the loud speaker, and I thought, “Wait, this might be cool.” As a young sir, when you think of something when you’re very young, it marinates in your head for years and years. Maybe five when I started to learn my name. At five, I hate this name. Six, I hate this name. It kept going. Kids would tease me about it. I would go to the teacher before and try to side with her like, “Can you call me Theo?” But after high school and just being in the real world I was like, “This name is cool and no one else has this name.”
