Never a dull moment in the life of the First Lady, Michelle Obama turned the East Room of the White House, which is normally used for presidential press conferences and gatherings, was a dance studio to honor Judith Jamison in Washington.

This was the first and continuing series of dance events in which students from around the country will have the chance to work with some of the biggest names in dance.

Mrs Obama told the students: ‘If you’ve done it here in the White House, you can do it anywhere.’
