The sporting events of the Olympics have come to a close, but the media hoopla surrounding the standout stars has just begun.

Right before USA’s golden Olympic team returned stateside, they caught up with Elle Magazine to talk about all things unrelated to gymnastics – kinda.

Gabby Douglas and Jordyn Wieber opened up to the mag and talked about boys, living in the Olympic village, and their favorite makeup products.

These gals are still young, but they know a thing or two about good makeup products through gymnast trial and error.

Check out some excerpts from the interview below:

On how they deal with social media distractions:

Gabby: It’s as easy as turning your phone off. We definitely don’t let it get to us, we have to stay positive, and not let it drag us down. Because we’re there, and we have a job to do, and we delivered. So don’t let it get to us.

On their opportunity to hang out with guys in London:

Jordyn: Not really, we were on lockdown a lot! They just want us to stay really focused, so we basically just rest a lot.

Gabby: They don’t want any distractions. So just resting, chilling out in the dorms.

On the importance of appearance from the point of view of a gymnast:

Jordyn: We definitely pay attention to it. We love doing our makeup and matching different eyeshadows and stuff with our leotards. The more confident we feel in the way we look, it has a huge effect on our gymnastics.

On their favorite products:

Jordyn I like experimenting with different color lip glosses and lipsticks and things like that. We like the CoverGirl Lash Blast mascara, it really accentuates your lashes and makes them look thick.

Gabby: I definitely cannot live without CoverGirl lip gloss, it’s so glossy and natural for me. And I just love the CoverGirl mascara. Definitely waterproof. After trials I figured that out—I was crying and my eyes were burning!

Hmm, we may smell a CoverGirl deal for Gabby in the future if she keeps name-dropping like that.
