R&B superstar Usher Raymond hoped to clear the air by going on Oprah’s Next Chapter and speaking about his nasty custody battle with ex-wife Tameka Foster.

VIDEO: Usher Tells It All On “Oprah’s Next Chapter”

He had a lot to say regarding their marriage – admitting that she wasn’t able to handle the relationship and neither was he. He told Oprah:

“I wanted to give her the wedding that she wanted. But I wasn’t quite ready… I impregnated this woman, we were in a relationship, we were in love. . . I was taking responsibility.”

Having his son Usher V was “the most incredible moment in his life,” he explained. Still, heaven turned to hell when the couple’s communication and his celebrity had a hand in the relationship going sour.

Usher explained:

“Let’s put aside all of the issues that come with being a celebrity and having married someone that people don’t approve of. You have at-home problems with communication, with understanding of how things go. It is hard being married… I didn’t know how to balance it. It was obviously too much for me. I didn’t want to get to the point where I would cause myself harm or do anything that I felt like would be harmful to me, so I couldn’t stay in it.”

Usher describes the moment when he realized in court Tameka’s “absentee father” accusations against him were an attack, saying that is the reason he began to cry. He told O:

“We don’t see eye-to-eye. The friend that I was to Tameka, I don’t know that I could ever be again, because I really felt like we were friends. She made us enemies in a way that I could never understood. It wasn’t until I was on the stand, where I cried, when I realized, ‘Oh, this is an attack.'”

He reveals that he could never be an absentee father, that he did not have a dad, and as a result, he is there for his kids. He talks about missing his late stepson Kile:

“I miss Kile… We cooked together, we laughed, we played, we sang… He loved to sing, he loved to dance, He loved to tell jokes…”

He went on to say:

“It hurts me to hear people speculating that I wasn’t at the funeral. I absolutely was at the funeral. I was at the burial as well.”

We wonder how Tameka is taking having all of their business out there in the open now… We are sure more will be revealed soon! In the meantime, check out some footage of Ush discussing it all below:
