The rumors were true.
“All Gold Everything” rapper, Trinidad Jame$, has officially inked a deal with Def Jam.
Yesterday, GlobalGrind reported the $2 million rumor that the Atlanta rapper (who’s only been rapping for 10 months) inked a lucrative deal with Def Jam.
It still isn’t confirmed if Trinidad’s advance was upwards of $2 million, but it is confirmed that he is now a part of the Def Jam family.
The good folks at Billboard caught up with Def Jam President Joie Manda and he stated:
“We’re excited to welcome a young talent like Trinidad James to the Def Jam family,” Joie Manda says. “Def Jam prides itself as both a cornerstone of hip-hop’s rich tradition, and as a vital, forward-thinking label dedicated to breaking and nurturing emerging artists. Trinidad James represents the cutting-edge of what’s happening in the culture today. We are thrilled to have him at the label, and look forward to growing his already massive buzz.”
Playing the music business game smart, Trinidad Jame$ also worked a deal where his Gold Gang Records label will also be housed under the Def Jam umbrella.
Kudos to him.
