Internationally acclaimed rap artist Won-G is rushing up efforts to build sturdy dwellings for the estimated 1.5 million families whose houses were leveled by the magnitude 7.0 earthquake that devastated Haiti on January 12, 2010. Won-G’s successful career in the music industry spans 14 years, 6 albums, 2 million copies sold through his own distribution and several singles included in the top 50 Billboard hits. His music videos have featured such celebrities as Paris Hilton, Carmen Elektra and Traci Bingham.

The emergency relief project for Haiti, which was in the works even before the latest calamity, is a joint undertaking of Won-G and Monolithic, a US-based company that invented a dome-shaped dwelling proven to be resistant to natural disasters. Won-G has always had a dream to enrich Haiti.

The partnership which created the One Dome at a Time Foundation and Action Builders Company was signed by Won-G and Monolithic officers led by founder David South in the US on October 2, 2009. The initial target of the foundation were the poor and homeless families in Haiti, Jamaica and Senegal. During the signing, Won-G said the project “will give families in Third World countries the ability to acquire their first homes.”

In recognition of his humanitarian activities, Won-G has been appointed ambassador of goodwill for both UNICEF and his native Haiti.

This reflects Won-G’s concerns as an international rapper who calls attention to poverty and injustice and sings in English, French, Spanish and Creole as medium.

Through the “One Dome at a Time Foundation” , the dome-shaped dwelling will be built for needy families identified by the organization. The structure is easy to build, costs less then traditional structures and requires less material but provides ample protection against the most severe natural disasters, including fire, hurricanes and earthquakes.

For updates check on Won-G’s website http://www.won-g.com

For more information contact Denise Lepow at 310-552-5318 / 713-256-1380 or email at denise@myp3r.com.
