Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin is in some hot water.

The politician, infamous for his post-Hurricane Katrina leadership, has been indicted on 21 federal corruption charges, including wire fraud, bribery and money laundering.

The charges, which stem from a City Hall corruption investigation that has put two other former city officials in trouble, include the filing of false tax returns and conspiracy as well.

This isn’t the first time Nagin has been in deep water. Back in 2005, the novice politician (who was previously a cable television executive) faced scrutiny when he angrily pleaded with federal officials to “get their asses” moving to help victims of the hurricane.

He was then criticized for the lack of leadership, spike of crime and slow rebuilding of New Orleans in the aftermath.
