Royal Caribbean may want to lawyer up after three crewmembers and 100 passengers allegedly fell victim to a gastrointestinal virus, otherwise known as the norovirus. The virus causes unbearable vomiting and diarrhea and is said to be spread by water contaminated with feces.
According to the Royal Caribbean, once word got out that the stomach bug was on board, they scrubbed the ship and treated the ill crewmembers and passengers with over-the-counter medication.
The company issued a statement saying:
“At Royal Caribbean International, we have high health standards for all our guests and crew. During the sailing, we conduct enhanced cleaning on board the ship to help prevent the spread of the illness. Additionally, when Vision of the Seas arrived to Port Everglades Fla., today, we conducted an extensive and thorough sanitizing onboard the ship and within the cruise terminal to help prevent any illness from affecting the subsequent sailing.”

Carnival Cruise passengers were just rescued from a powerless ship and now Royal Caribbean are infecting passengers with their sh*tty water. If you’re a risk taker, expect prices to go down – just in time for the summer.
There are no reports of the status of the ill crewmembers and passengers. Hopefully they were cured and enjoyed the remainder of the cruise.
