Even after the marathon bombings that killed three and injured 180, one thing is for certain in Boston.

They’ll never back down, not even in the face of terror.

In a show of love, support, and unity, residents and transplants all over the city gathered for candlelight vigils to remember those lost, and to support those whose lives are forever changed.

At one of those vigils, held in Dorchester for 8-year-old Martin Richard, some residents were worried about gathering in huge crowds. But that fear subsided once they realized the true power of unity.

Like so many who came to show support, James Gallagher, a resident of Dorchester, wanted Martin’s father, Bill Richard, and others affected to know they’re not alone.

“My heart and prayers are with the family,” he said.
