The corset came about in sixteenth-century Europe, reaching the height of its popularity in the Victorian era. Originally produced in Italy as an undergarment, the women of the French court later saw the corset as “indispensable to the beauty of the female figure.”

For decades we’ve seen some of our favorite celebrities magically turn their upper bodies into an hour glass shape by wearing corsets. Flattening the bust, and pushing them up all at the same time gives every woman a desired enhancement. Reducing the size of the waist and flattening the tummy, a well made corset will completely transform your body.

Leather, lace, silk, even denim, corsets are a large factor in fashion and style, and they are not going anywhere. Here are a few ways to get the corset look. All available online at Asos.com and Forever21.com

I reached out to my fellow LifeStyleHer, Julissa Bermudez, star of Empire Girls, for her take on the subject. She is a big fan of corsets and has an amazing collection.

“For the love of Corsets! Any woman knows a great fitting corset can make a world of difference. Whether it’s to enhance your bust, minimize your waist or just give an overall classic sexy look a corset is the go to piece.” Julissa B.
