Someone please queue the theme music for the “How Tasteless Will You Be For Money” game show.

The first contestant we have is whomever the heck thought it would be cool to try to profit off a national tragedy.

Earlier last week, we reported the existence of Nike’s t-shirts that read “Boston Massacre.” But before you jump to conclusions on the company’s insensitivity to last week’s tragedy, you should know that the shirts were made way before Monday’s bombing.

Nike followed up by pulling all of the “Boston Massacre” shirts from their outlet stores, as well as from large online retailers like Fanatics Inc. But there is no way to make sure that they don’t end up in other places, like the mass buying and selling corner of the internet known as eBay.

According to a report by Yahoo News, eBay pulled a listing on Wednesday for a Nike Inc. t-shirt displaying the phrase “Boston Massacre,” citing the online marketplace’s policy against “offensive materials.”

The t-shirt was listed for sale earlier this week on eBay and received over 131 bids of more than $150,000, according to bid history on the company’s website.

An eBay spokeswoman told Yahoo the shirt was removed because it violated a company policy that bans listings of items that promote or glorify hatred, violence, racial, sexual, or religious intolerance, or promote organizations with such views.

Just in case you don’t believe people would be willing to pay that much for a t-shirt, the quick fingers over at Fashionista snagged a screen shot that you can see below.
