Designer Nicolas Ghesquière brought a lot of things to Balenciaga.
And one of the last was Twilight starlet Kristen Stewart, who served as a spokesperson and loyal supporter of the brand. So some may find it strange that even though Nicolas left, Kristen is sticking around as one of the company’s spokespeople.
Kristen, who acted as the face of Balenciaga’s Florabotanica fragrance, once said in an interview with WWD:
“I’m very lucky that I like the fragrance, because I would have done anything with [designer Nicolas Ghesquière].”
And later in an interview with 032c, Kristen said that she promised Nicolas, “I will totally run away with you,” after he told her about his troubles with the brand and his imminent departure.
But that Balenciaga check might have been more enticing than loyalty to Nicolas, because a rep for Balenciaga confirmed that Kristen will indeed continue her role with the house.
Things at Balenciaga are getting messy, because Miss Liberty Ross is also now attached to the brand. New Creative Director Alexander Wang recently made headlines for his friendship with Liberty, who happens to be the wife of Rupert Sanders, the dude KStew was carrying on an affair with.
