Some thought Angelina Jolie’s recent double mastectomy (in light of learning she had an 87 percent chance of developing breast cancer) was a little rash, but after this horrible news, we all have to agree it was definitely the right decision for her family.
Just two weeks after the legendary actress’ announcement, Angelina’s aunt Debbie Martin passed away due to her struggle with breast cancer. Here is how the very sad news is being reported by the NYDailyNews:
“According to E! News, the Oscar winner’s uncle Ron Martin said that his wife, Debbie Martin, passed away Sunday.
Angelina has been in touch throughout the week and her brother Jamie has been with us, giving his support day by day,’ Martin told the website.”
Martin also said of his niece and nephew, Jamie:
“They both loved Debbie very much, and although Angie is not able to come right now she has sent her love and support which was very nice.”
Breast cancer is very real and Angelina’s public reveal really shed light on an extremely necessary conversation that needs to be had about prevention and genetics.
May Auntie Debbie rest in peace.
