First let me thank Russell Simmons for honoring me with the opportunity to be apart of this elite list of bloggers. Rush is a man whom I deeply admire for his tenacity in achieving objectives. I’ve had moments to work with him and he is a serious grinder.
Since this is my first blog entry in this arena of Global Grind, I wanted to first tell you a little about myself. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I have been a registered member of the Nation of Islam under the leadership of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan for 11 years.
I am a staff writer for The Final Call newspaper and I have had the honor of bringing attention to some of the most pressing stories of which includes The Jena Six and the plight of Hurricane Katrina survivors. I love bringing to light human interest stories that tend to get overlooked or underreported.
My aim in this blog is to keep you informed about hot stories that I am working on that impact our communities. Also, many online readers rarely get a chance to hear from someone inside the NOI but rather depend on outsiders for their analysis on the Minister Farrakhan and our work. With that, I am excited about sharing with you some of the self-improvement guidance that we receive from Minister Farrakhan.
