Michael Jackson is to me music personified. In my opinion there was no one greater than him; no artist on earth carried such an enormous superstar aura as the enigma that was Michael Jackson. He inspires me in every way, as a songwriter whose songs live forever in history, as a singer who feels every single word and beat of the song and as a performer who has superhuman levels of energy and presence on stage. He is and forever will be the greatest. he was the first artist I ever idolized, the first artist that made me fall in love with music, the first artist who to me, was just untouchable. Some of my favourite songs are ‘human nature,’ ‘Liberian girl’ and ‘man in the mirror.’

I love MJ’s harmonies in Liberian girl and the feeling he expresses when he sings, his diversity as a singer is incredible. He can shift from high energy and forceful attack on songs like smooth criminal to soft and almost vulnerable in human nature and man in the mirror. He FEELS music. I don’t know a single songwriter, dancer, choreographer, singer or performer who hasn’t been influenced by MJ. Regardless of their sex, creed, or colour, he crossed all barriers. i don’t know if there will ever be a more talked about, idolized and sorely missed artist in the history of music.
