<p>Chicago Bears defensive end Gaines Adams was pronounced dead on January 17 after being rushed to the hospital shortly after his girlfriend found him unresponsive at his Greenwood, S.C., home.</p><p>RadarOnline.com has the wrenching phone call Adams&rsquo; girlfriend made requesting emergency help. While the call lasted for nearly fifteen minutes, due to the graphic nature of the call, only a minute of the conversation can be heard in the player<br /> above.</p><p>Between her tears and heartbroken sobs, Adams&rsquo; girlfriend tells the emergency dispatch operator that the football player was doing &ldquo;crazy breathing&rdquo; and was &ldquo;not talking at all.&rdquo; When asked if she could wake Adams up, the girlfriend wailed &ldquo;he&rsquo;s not responding to me.&rdquo; The twenty-six year old&rsquo;s autopsy revealed that he had an enlarged heart which led to his cardiac arrest.</p><p>Marcia Kelley-Clark, chief deputy coroner for Greenwood County, said the heart issue had been undetected: &ldquo;Nobody was aware of any kind of medical condition.&rdquo;</p><p><a href="http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid11892230001?bctid=62209795001&quot; target="_blank">Click here to listen to the 911 call</a></p><p>Follow us on Twitter @certifiedscoop</p>
