Big Boi, who’s about to make his Def Jam debut, had a conference call with some media a few days back. He talks his new project, who’s going to be featured on it, and why he left his old label. Check out what he had to say regarding leaving Jive:

Basically we got moved over to Jive with the whole merger with BMG like 4 or 5 years ago. There were alot of creative differences. One of the head people at Jive asked me to go in and make my own version of Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop”. At that point, I kinda knew that they didn’t understand what was going on. So, I called LA Reid, let him know what’s happening, long story short, bout a year of going back & forth, they let me go. And now here we are, Def Jam, every kid’s dream, to be on Def Jam, one of the greatest labels in the world. Feel like I got traded from the Braves to the Yankees & it’s time to play ball, what’s happenin!
