G-Unit leader 50 Cent’s Before I Self Destruct has been certified gold by the RIAA however, according to Neilsen SoundScan, the project hasn’t sold 500,000 copies just yet.
According to reports, Fif’s fourth solo project was certified gold this month. 50 Cent has another Gold certified album on his hands. The rapper’s 2009 effort ‘Before I Self Destruct’ was recently certified Gold by the RIAA due to sales in excess of 500,000 copies. Led by the single ‘Baby By Me,’ 50 Cent’s ‘Before I Self Destruct’ closed out a strong decade of hit albums and singles for him. (Examiner)
However, SoundScan reports show the rapper’s album still in the 300,000 range. 50 Cent’s Before I Self Destruct album fell four spots to No. 72 this week with 6,800 units sold. After ten weeks of availability, the rapper’s latest effort has sold 372,100 records to date.
