Reggae star Buju Banton, who has long been a target of gay rights protesters, yesterday met with representatives from the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community, for a meeting intended to start a dialogue and action toward a human rights agenda, inclusive of both LBGT concerns and the reggae community. Buju has had numerous shows cancelled, following protests from gay rights activists who accuse the deejay of promoting homophobia in his 1992 hit, Boom Bye Bye.
