YOUNG SIMMONS: I know when your album drops, but for those that don’t know; when does your album drop?
WALE: On Tuesday, November 10th
YOUNG SIMMONS: Why did you name it “Attention Deficit”?
WALE: I just feel like everything you hear is different than the next, my years on this land, everything has been different, and this story is about to be about my life , nothing can be the same. Track 1 can’t be 2, and 2 can’t be 3. They all have to be honest stories about my life, in order for me to paint the picture properly the music has to sound different. It’s not gonna be one whole sound, it’s gonna be kinda everywhere.
YS: Yeah. Being from DC, how does Go-Go music have an influence on your sound, like the way you rap and the way you make your music?
WALE:  It’s certain topics. Some beats that I hear, that you might not hear. ‘Cause it’s not the kind of music I was brought up on, but way different, you know? And also like, you hear the drums, they’re not commonly used drums on hip-hop records that I used on that album.
YS:  I know you’re one of the top freshmen’s, so how do you feel about the progress you made since being a freshman?
WALE: I love it, man! I feel like I’ve done a good job keeping my name out there and spreading awareness. I’m not necessarily a big, mainstream artist at this point, but I definitely like the progress I made.
YS: Yeah, you’re definitely on your way there. And there’s a lot of confusion, what label are you actually signed with?
WALe: I’m signed with Interscope… Allido/Interscope. My man is over at Roc Nation.
YS: You don’t have to answer this, I just need to know, a lot of people wanted to know; What’s up with you and Solange Knowles, if you want to talk on that? You’re just friends, or…
WALE: She’s incredible! An incredible woman, I love her to death. She’s very close to me, you know what I’m sayin’? I really appreciate her friendship, but we’re friends, you know?
YS: Erykah Badu was out there saying y’all were together.
WALE: You know they always gonna say something.
YS: For sure, for sure.
