Paramore, an alternative rock band from Tennessee formed in 2004 and consists of five band members. Sounds like every other band out there right? NOPE! What separates Paramore from other rock bands is their lead singer is a chick!
Hayley Williams talks about getting asked about being the only girl in band in a blog posted through MTV, ‘It’s not that it’s annoying, it’s just that I wonder what’s so fascinating about it.‘ And adding, ‘But I guess, sadly enough I do recognize that it’s still pretty rare to see a girl fronting a band and commanding a stage.‘
In her blog post Hayley raises a good question, ‘Have you ever wondered why it’s so difficult for girls to get into scene and be taken seriously?’

When Paramore first started touring, they were one of the only bands with a young woman fronting the band. And that’s not something Hayley saw as a bad thing, ‘As lobely as that felt sometimes, I loved the challenge. I looked up to anyone who would control a crowd and not feel sorry about it.‘
Despite being the only girl in the scene Hayley would always try and win over as many people as she could to help out her band, Paramore. She jokes saying, ‘Maybe it helped that I looked like a teenage boy?‘

What ever the crowd was like Hayley never walked off stage and always stood her ground. She said she, ‘Never let nobody get the best of me. Cause I knew that I wanted to do something important.’
