Nate Dogg passed away last night of undisclosed causes at the age of 41.

While many other friends and collaborators have been tweeting their feelings of loss and condolences, Russell Simmons has put into perspective the long reaching industry affects of the Dogg’s death.

“His voice was synonymous with West Coast hip-hop,” Russell said this morning, “If you were a developing West Coast artist, there was no greater cosigner you could have than Nate Dogg. He was a sweet gentleman who died too soon.”

Nate’s smooth as butter vocals and amiable disposition will surely be missed. Help GlobalGrind remember Nate Dogg by posting your thoughts on the soulful singer in the comment section below.
