“Scream” is undoubtly one of the best scary movie franchises to date and director Wes Craven is now back on the set with “Scream 4.”

GlobalGrind had the exclusive opportunity to sit down with “Scream 4’s” all-star cast, Hayden Panettiere, Anthony Anderson, Emma Roberts, Rory Culkin, Neve Campbell, Kristen Bell and Courteney Cox. The cast discussed everything from what makes them scream to who’s supposed to die first.

This interview will have you screaming with laughter, because actor/comedian Anthony Anderson, Hayden Panettiere and Emma Roberts don’t hold back on the scary movie jokes.

Check out the exclusive interview below and on the next few pages!

GlobalGrind: What was the draw for doing this movie? Were you fans of the franchise? Fans of horror in general?

Anthony Anderson: Well, being the only person of color in a horror film I would stand out (laughs). No, no, no, I’m a fan of the franchise. Actually I was in another film that spoofed this franchise and now I’m in this franchise. So that was that. And seriously, to be the sole person of color in a horror film, you might think you might know what my demise will be, but it’s a new decade, new rules, so I might make it out of the end of the opening credits.

Emma Roberts: Well, my character is not a virgin because apparently virgins don’t die, or what is it? Virgins can die now?

Anthony: See, new decade, new rules.

Emma: As long as I don’t get down to my underwear I might make it. Because no one ever survives that.

Rory Culkin: That has not changed, if you’re down to your underwear you’re dead. If you’re down to your bra and panties, that’s it, you’re over. Goodbye.

GlobalGrind: So what was your interest in doing this?

Emma: Well, I was a huge fan of the franchise and I was a huge fan of Wes Craven and I thought that the fact that he was coming back to direct this one meant it was going to be good. When I read the script I loved the part and I’ve never done a horror movie, so I figured, why not?

Hayden Panettiere: It’s exciting; it’s an exciting thing to be a part of. It’s generally one of those extremes. So you have to be very careful, and then a film like this comes along. I love how long it’s been since the last film. It’s a sequel, but it’s also a remake but it’s a combination and it’s a reboot. But it’s cleverly remembering where it comes from. I mean who wouldn’t want to be in a “Scream” movie? I thought, I was going, ‘Aren’t I supposed to be watching this movie?’ I mean I could never imagine myself being on screen with Neve Campbell and…..screaming. It doesn’t make sense.

SPOILER ALERT:

GlobalGrind: So did you have any say in how you got stabbed and if you would like to stab someone, who would that be?

Rory: Well, we didn’t really have a say in how we died. Did you guys have any say in how you died?

Anthony: I die in this? I can’t die! I’m the black guy! (laughs)

Emma: That’s right. New Rules. The star of “Scream 5” everybody.

GlobalGrind: OK, fair enough. Did you like the way you went out?

Hayden: IF he went out. IF. Don’t be judgmental!

Anthony: If I were to go out in this movie I think I would go out in a blaze of glory.

Hayden: You’d be the only character to go out in flames. Something new.

SPOILER ALERT:

GlobalGrind: Did Wes tell everyone that you would be the villain or did he keep it a secret?

Anthony: Well, if that was a secret, you just ruined it for the rest of the world (laughs). I haven’t seen the movie yet, so I’ll be honest, I did’t know who the killer was until like 27 minutes ago. My script didn’t have an ending to it. I don’t know if it’s because they didn’t trust me, but my script never had an ending to it.

Rory: But I haven’t seen the movie either and I have some sort of feeling that they lied to all of us and we think that the killer is one person and it’s not. Because how can they trust actors really. Come on, I would lie to us.

Anthony: I’m lying now…(laughs).

GlobalGrind: This one goes for Hayden, what scares you the most in the world?

Hayden: What scares me the most in the world? I actually had an experience where I thought someone was breaking into my house and that’s got to be the most terrified I’ve ever been in my life.

Anthony: And what really happened, Hayden?

Hayden: What really happened was I thought someone was breaking in and I might have overreacted a little bit so I grabbed a tazer and my phone and then wound up crawling out of the window to find 5 or 6 gun lazers pointed at me and I was running with my tazer and I was like ‘Don’t shoot me, don’t shoot me! It’s me, it’s my house!’ So they did eventually come but they almost shot me. I’m not joking!

Anthony: I didn’t know that’s how that story was going to end up. Sorry! (Laughs) I thought it was just some kids trick or treating, ringing my bell.

Hayden: It was the wind!

Anthony: Pizza hut delivery, delivering my pizza and I forgot I ordered it!

GlobalGrind: What do you guys all think makes “Ghost Face” so enduring and scary? It’s been a decade and it’s still pretty frightening.

Rory: Why is he so frightening? Because it’s always a different person with different motives, so you don’t know why they’re doing it. And it’s also weird because the whole town celebrates this massacre that happened only 10 years earlier so it’s pretty sick, it’s a pretty sick little down.
