It’s 2013 for goodness sakes!
A black Caribbean woman has put up a sign in the front window of her restaurant, telling racist white people not to come in if they don’t like the fact that she is a black woman…in so many words.
“Attention!,” the all-caps sign exclaims, “everyone be aware I am a black woman, and always will be[.] If you are allergic to black people, don’t come in.”
Martha-Renee Kolleh, who runs Yeanon Café in the West Yorkshire (an area in England) has had enough of the racism that she’s been dealing with for the two years she’s had her restaurant.
“I put [the sign] there because of the way people treat me in Ossett,” said Kolleh, who noted that some have received the “warning” with an understanding laugh, while others responded by cursing at her.
