Rico Love is a songwriter and producer who’s worked with artists Usher, Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Chris Brown, and more. He’s even been featured on records like Jamie Foxx‘s “Freak” and T.I.‘s “Lay Me Down.”

But now Love is ready to go from super producer/writer to a superstar artist himself.

In this clip of Rico Love in the studio, not only does he hint at dropping his album, but he vocalizes pensive thoughts on putting great effort into what you do because that’s the only way you can be someone that’s considered “legendary,” and for him, music is what he aspires to be great at, stating:

“I hear “Thriller” everyday, and I don’t feel like Michael is gone. And that’s what our music is supposed to do. Now if I make fluff music or try to make music for a dollar, or music for this time, or music for this era, then of course my music is never going to stay. It’s never going to last.”

He also lets it be known that it’s the journey, not the destination that’s most important. We’re certainly excited to see what Rico Love embarks on in his latest journey.
