If you don’t know the glamorous, and not to mention gorgeous, TV personality B. Scott, you have some research to do. But network station BET will become real familiar with Mr. Scott, real soon. The transgender TV star is suing BET for a whopping $2.5 million, accusing the network of gender identity discrimination.

It all started when B. Scott was hired as a style stage correspondent for BET’s annual awards show earlier this year. For such a glamorous event, you know B. Scott wasn’t going to wear any old thing! The BET producers pre-approved Scott’s outfit, which consisted of a flowy tunic, semi sheer black pants and a heeled boot. Not long after, BET allegedly asked the personality to “tone down” his look and not wear heels or dramatic makeup to host the carpet

The lawsuit claims that “BET and VIACOM made him feel less than his colleagues and made him feel that something was wrong with him as a person.”

B. Scott even tweeted at one point during the show,

The 32-year-old’s red carpet duties were picked up by co-host Adrienne Bailon and he didn’t appear again until the end of show, where he was forced into a more “manly” outfit.

In an open letter on his website, he writes:

It is also by that definition that BET and Viacom willingly and wrongfully discriminated against my gender identity during the 2013 BET Awards Pre-Show.

Let’s be clear — I’m suing BET and Viacom for a true public apology and to be fairly remunerated for the time lost, humiliation and emotional distress this entire situation has put me through.

Scott filed the suit this past Monday, August 5th, and we will just have to wait to see how everything unfolds.
