Wale, who is Nigerian, had never been to Africa.
That changed last year when the rapper took a trip to his parents’ homeland. Revolt, Diddy’s just-launched channel, decided it was something they wanted to document, so they sent a camera crew with the rapper.
Now it’s a documentary: Wale: I Am From will air on Monday, January 20th at 10 p.m. Following the doc’s premiere, there will be a live Ustream with Wale.
Wale says of the trip:
“The whole idea of the trip was for me to find some peace within my family and bring peace to my family.”
