Pope Francis and President Barack Obama will meet at the Vatican for the first time as part of a European trip scheduled in March. The White House says Obama “looks forward to discussing with Pope Francis their shared commitment to fighting poverty and growing inequality” during their March 27 meeting. An argument between father and son turned deadly when Ohio police called to the scene fatally shot the unarmed 23-year-old. Father Jeff Surface was scuffling with son, Caleb, after he broke into his home. When police arrived, Caleb ran out the back door, but didn’t get far before running into an officer. That’s when the officer, whose name has yet to be released, fired two shots. Police are investigating the shooting and the officer who fired, a 10-year-veteran, has been placed on administrative leave. [DailyMail]

So this happened: a father, who lost his daughter in a car crash last year, received a letter from OfficeMax addressed to him and his deceased daughter with the tag “Mike Seay, Daughter Killed in Car Crash.” When Seay contacted OfficeMax’s customer service line, he was told by an operator that “it was impossible, that this can’t be happening.” Eventually, OfficeMax acknowledged the letter when they were contacted by the news, saying it was sent by a third-party and that they are deeply sorry.
