Even with Chris Brown taking a break from the spotlight to better himself, it seems trouble has a way of finding him.

The 24-year-old singer is still working on himself in rehab, but his lawyer is dealing with a new possible lawsuit from a guy who claims he was beaten up by Chris and his entourage during a pick-up basketball game at 24 Hour Fitness.

According to TMZ, a guy named Malcolm Ausbon wants $250,000 from Chris for the incident, otherwise he might press charges.

The site reports:

TMZ has obtained a letter Ausbon’s lawyer sent to Chris’ legal eagle, Mark Geragos, demanding $250,000 from Chris … OR ELSE.  As for the ‘or else’ … the lawyer says if Brown doesn’t pay, ‘Mr. Ausbon is placed in a position by the LAPD where he needs to decide whether he will press charges.’ The lawyer continues, ‘He would rather be compensated.’ THAT, Mark Geragos tells TMZ, is EXTORTION … cleverly worded extortion, but extortion nonetheless. Geragos says he’s going after Ausbon by filing a police report. Apparently Mark Geragos met with Ausbon’s attorney in August where he admitted that Ausbon admitted Chris never even touched him. The video that authorities have show a guy in dreadlocks doing the beating.

Hopefully this all gets straightened out. We think Chris has had enough drama in the past couple of years and we’d like to see him leading a happy, healthy, and drama-free life soon!
