We’ve got another set of “Stories In Florida” to share. Today we have a 35-year-old woman who beat up a 12-year-old girl because she believed the girl was harrassing her daughter, as well as a man who was arrested after he did a cannonball on a manatee’s face.

Manatee Cannonball

Two men are now facing up to a year in prison after they were caught “canonballing” two manatees’ faces.

Taylor Blake Martin and Seth Andrew Stephenson lured the endangered animals to a canal so that they could jump on them and record it, all while they were cheered on by friends. They have now pled guilty to federal endangered species charges .

The video is from March 2012, but it was uploaded more recently, which is how the authorities came across the incident.

Middle School Bully

A 35-year-old woman was not happy when she was led to believe that another 12-year-old girl was bullying her daughter at school, so much so that she went and took care of the issue herself.

Rather than speaking to school authorities about the problem, Irisdaly Rios beat up the young girl in front of a large Middle School crowd. The incident was caught on camera by another student, whose mother later posted it online for others to see.

Rios was then arrested and charged with simple battery for the altercation, you can read more about it here.
