In her first interview since giving birth just about two months ago, Kerry Washington opened up about all the joys of being a mother.
Washington sat down with The Los Angeles Times earlier this week to take questions from fans of her hit show Scandal. One Twitter user got straight to the meat and potatoes, asking, “Now that you’re a mom, will it be bittersweet to go back to work?”
“So tricky because you know I don’t talk about this stuff,” Washington said before adding that she feels “really blessed.”
“I will say I feel really, really blessed,” she revealed. “I just feel really blessed that I’m kind of living extraordinary dreams come true in my work life and in my personal life.”
Kerry, who is happily married to ex-NFL star Nnamdi Asomugha, took the plunge into motherhood on April 21st, giving birth to her daughter Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha. Though she stayed relatively quiet about the birth of her baby girl in the media, Washington did share a Mother’s Day message with her fans, acknowledging the fact that she saw their kind words and was grateful.
