Ed Sheeran has premiered yet another single off his upcoming album, X.
“Afire Love” is a touching ballad that explores the recollections and emotions brought on by the loss of a loved one. The strong violin intro opens the song on a solemn tone, drawing you in to listen to Sheeran’s heartfelt lyrics: “I could look into your eyes until the sun comes up /And we’re wrapped in light, in life.”
Deep.
“Afire Love” then closes out with a chorus of gospel choir-like “Ooo’s,” which ends out the somber record perfectly. The “Don’t” singer’s vocal arrangement and emotional vulnerability will undoubtedly make this one of the most memorable songs on the album.
