As ‘Larry King Live’ draws to a close, Mr. King himself is finally on the receiving end of some questions. The 76-year-old gave Harper’s Bazaar some inside info for their September issue– out on newsstands August 17 –about his own personal style.

Now, I was expecting a statement along the lines of ‘I’m a big fan of the multiple pairs of suspenders you see me wearing on television.’ However, Mr. Larry King, suspenders and plaid tie in tow, definitely threw me for a loop with his response: ‘I like leather.’ Don’t get me wrong– to each his own –this  just caught me off guard.

Larry King actually seems like a pretty hip dude. As he went on to say, ‘I like stylish jeans. I like color. Donna Karan gave me a leather jacket that I’ve worn, and I’ve got a bright-red Bijan jacket.’

The part where I cringe: ‘I love those new sneakers, Sketchers, that give a little lift inside.’

As far as Lady Gaga goes, King thinks she’s refreshing. However, he sites Jane Fonda, Angie Dickinson, and Cameron Diaz as the most stylish people he has ever interviewed.

While we’re on the topic of older gentlemen, let’s look at others who are all swagged out, giving younger dudes a real run for their money on the NEXT PAGE

Take note, however, that I don’t mean the sexiest dudes. I don’t mean the most wholesome or upstanding citizens. I mean the older male figures that have  signature swagger and staying power, outliving every one-hit wonder and boy band, and showing us all how it’s really done.

Props to them. Better start taking notes.

Mr. Chris Noth

From his days as Mr. Big on Sex in the City, I’ve had a love/hate relationship with Noth. Such a dapper man, and so suave you can’t resist him.

Mr. Antonio Banderas

Swag on full attack. I think it’s the fact that you can hardly understand him…

Mr. Denzel Washington

Resident badass. Do yourself a favor and go see ‘Book of Eli’

Mr. Alec Baldwin

I think it’s in the eyes.

Mr. Robert De Niro

Everybody’s favorite Italian. De Niro can be a funny guy, yet still has the intimidation factor.

Mr. Blair Underwood

Such strong features. Mmm.

Mr. Samuel L. Jackson

His voice commands such authority. He also has a little lean in his step.
