Chely Wright is the first country singer to ever come out of the closet as a lesbian, and according to Ms. Wright, her declaration of being gay was liberating – but it came at a high price.
According to TMZ, Chely Wright had these kind words for Frank Ocean after he announced to the world that he’s a bisexual man.
“I can’t think of a better way for Frank to celebrate Independence Day. It’s spectacular.”
Feeling happy for Frank’s liberating declaration, Chely Wright began to think about her “outing” experience and relished the freedom she felt, but remembered the hatred that came with her newfound independence.

Since 2010, Chely says her record sales dropped considerably: approximately one-third.
She’s even been forced to sign persona no grata documents for events, which ban her from performing at certain venues in fear of fans boycotting her concerts.
Chely commends Frank’s bravery, but wanted to let him know that the road isn’t going to be a smooth one.
Chely went through many ups and downs, but now, she’s completely comfortable with who she is and urges Frank to find the same solace.
