Seems like the race card will forever be getting overused!

NPR caused some huge controversy yesterday when they published an article called “Moscato: The Gateway Wine For People Of Color?” targeting black people and their alleged obsession with Moscato.

The article lists a bunch of reasons as to why people of “color” like Moscato, and why they continue to buy the product.

According to the article, black people like the drink because it’s “sweet, cheap, and rap-approved,” with a promo picture of Nicki Minaj holding a bottle of “Myx.”

One of the controversial quotes in the story was as follows:

“People who don’t think of themselves as wine-drinkers, who are intimated by the idea of a wine tasting, who would never ever try to search out “earthy tones” in a deep red, those people drink Moscato, and they like it.”

The article also implies that rappers, particularly Drake, encourage black people to drink the famous wine, which is why they supposedly consistently buy it.
