Keeping true to his promise to tackle immigration in his second term, President Barack Obama is planning an overhaul to the U.S. immigration system that will include a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants in the country.

The bill, which is expected to be introduced in Congress after January’s inauguration, will be one large, comprehensive bill, despite the Republicans’ efforts to break up the overhaul into smaller pieces.
Included in the plan:
-The bill would require businesses to verify new employees in country legally
-The bill could create a guest-worker program for low-wage immigrants
-Immigrants seeking legal status would have to pay fines and back-taxes
-The bill will add visas to relieve backlogs and allow high-skilled immigrants to stay in the country
The bill could be introduced as early as February or March and could see the Senate floor as early as August.
