La La Anthony‘s life was turned upside down a little less than a year ago. After her hubby Carmelo Anthony was traded from the Denver Nuggets to the New York Knicks, the couple and their son, Kiyan, had to quickly move to the Big Apple and adjust to life in the big city.

EXCLUSIVE: La La Is A Super Mom

It was easy for La La, considering she grew up in Brooklyn and lived in NYC for years, but it was still a massive change. From the suburbs to the big city, La La captures every detail on her reality show, La La’s Full Court Life.

With the finale of the show airing tonight on VH1, we caught up with La La to discuss her favorite NYC spots, living life like it’s Sex and the City, discussing her weight on TV and what life is like with the NBA lockout in effect.

Check out our exclusive below.

If you had to choose between NY and L.A., which one would it be?

I like them both for different reasons. There’s no place like New York, it’s the city that never sleeps. There’s always something going on, the city is constantly buzzing and that’s amazing. L.A. to me is more chill, I can drive around everywhere, there’s more space for my son to run around and play. I love them both.

In one of the episodes of Full Court Life you, Po and Dice were sort of freaking out about your weight. Since then have you found a plan to do while you’re in NYC?

I’ve done better, I just started making better decisions with food and I’ve continued with the boxing that you saw on the show. It’s been great and I did that episode for a reason. I just wanted to show people we all go through the same issues when it comes to weight and I’m no different. It takes guts to put your weight on a TV show for everybody to see and not be ashamed of it and show people we all go through the same things when it comes to weight. It was really powerful. But, yes, I’ve just been trying to make better choices. I think it’s always a struggle with women in general, you’re up, you’re down, you’re up, you’re down, that’s just every other day.

What are some activities you want to do with Melo while the lockout is going on?

Melo and I just really enjoy being together and we have a good time. We’re going to go see plays and just do normal things together, but we enjoy each other’s company. He’s been taking Kiyan to soccer practice, getting Halloween stuff and going to get the costume and things that sometimes he would be on the road for, or not be here for. He’s here for now and I enjoy that, but of course, he wants to play basketball, we as fans want the game to continue on.

What is your favorite restaurant in New York City?

I’m really a big fan of Serendipity because I take my son there. We went there today and you can have great food and then great ice cream. For a parent, it’s a good place to take a kid.

Who is your favorite person to follow on Twitter?

Let me look through my tweets real quick! I like Kevin Hart on Twitter! I have to be honest he’s always saying something funny and always saying a joke, so I have to say Kevin Hart for sure.

What’s your favorite movie?

I have so many favorites. I love The Notebook, I love Lean On Me, I love Little Shop Of Horrors. I’m such a sap but those are three that come to mind.

What is your guilty pleasure food?

Chocolate! Anything chocolate, that’s my destruction. That’ll be my demise, Kit Kat, Nestle Crunch. Anything chocolate I’ll have.

What would you title a reality show about your closest friends?

Overall I think the theme for all of them would have to be Sex and the City. I would love to call it Sex and the City. All of them are fab, some of them are dating, some of them are married, but they’re still in the loop and cool. They’re cool parents and cool people, so definitely Sex and the City would be the theme for all of them.
