It’s been 20 years since Rodney King’s beating by LAPD officers was captured on video, leading to an explosion of racial tensions during the L.A. riots.

Today as the Trayvon Martin case drums up similar racial tensions, King told TMZ that he was lucky to have his beating captured on tape and he sincerely hopes Trayvon’s family will eventually get justice.

Promoting his new book in NYC he spoke with TMZ:

“It’s not one day that goes by that I don’t think about the incident … I get these headaches … when I [sniff], my sinuses start burning.”

Now, with the Trayvon’s case stirring up the same kind of emotions, King says the judicial system is a “slow process and I’m hoping he gets justice for his family … ’cause he’s no longer here, so for his family.”

Good to see that Rodney King is bouncing back 20 years later.
